Staying on Washington Island, Wisconsin
The Hotel Washington (pictured above) was built in 1904, and it initially housed sailors making their way across the Great Lakes through a dangerous passage called Death’s Door. The hotel is small, with 8 rooms that share 2 bathrooms.
The Hotel will be occupied by the “wedding party.” All guests, of course, are welcome to visit on the Hotel’s grounds throughout the weekend.
We hope you’ll decide to find and book a place on Washington Island, so that we can spend the most possible time with you during the weekend!
There are plenty of accommodations on the island, and we encourage you to book early so you’ll have lots of good choices.
Staying on Washington Island
The Washington Island Chamber of Commerce has published a helpful directory that includes local (and affordable) gems like the Bitter End Motel at Nelson’s Hall and new accommodations like the Four Elements Lodging — five queen bed studio cabins arrayed around a shared fire pit.
Of course, AirBnB and Vrbo are also options on Washington Island. Check out this list of AirBnB rentals near the Hotel Washington, if you need inspiration.
We want to help you find roommates for your stay on Washington Island! Please let us know if you’d like to be connected with other people who you may know, so you can coordinate your stay.
Staying on the Mainland
Especially for folks who want to come over for the ceremony but can’t stay for the whole weekend, staying on the mainland might be a more attractive choice.
Ephraim, Wisconsin and nearby Sister Bay have lots of hotels, motels and inns that run the gamut from upscale to very affordable. These relatively larger towns are 20ish minute drives from the ferry departure point at Northport Pier, and Ephraim is only 1.5 hours from the Green Bay airport.
